Nu Cafe:

About a 16 minute walk southwest, according to Google Maps, on Chandler Street, Nu Cafe is a relaxing environment for college students to eat breakfast or lunch, drink coffee, smoothies, or tea, and to sit back and relax. Bring homework to study at a table, read one of the magazines or books tastefully scattered around the restaurant, bring a friend and play one of the board games they offer, or chill on one of the many couches. As an added bonus, customers can enjoy any of the drinks and food guilt-free! The coffee is organic, the smoothies are made with real fruit and real fruit juice, and the food options are all made fresh, in-house. Open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Enjoy Wednesday night’s 15% Student Discount after 5pm, or come to Friday’s Open Mic Night. Nu Café is located at 355 Chandler Street.

Corner Grille:

Just a mile away (about a 20 minute walk) lies a small “not your average pizza” restaurant, called the Corner Grille. Visitors should not be fooled by  its low-key atmosphere , the pizzas are interesting, innovative, and always delicious! Upon entering, three large chalk boards can be seen; the board above the cashier shows all the pizza options, the board to the left is for salads, and the board to your right shows the wrap options. (Try the Baked Potato Pizza or the Tuna Bomb Wrap!). There are also mason jars of homemade iced tea and lemonade big enough for two. Tortilla chips and a substantial slice of their signature pickled green tomato comes as a side to the wraps. Open Monday through Wednesday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Nancy Chang:

Walk Southwest down Chandler for 14 minutes, and you’ll find yourself at Nancy Chang Chinese Food, where a person can get enough food not only for dinner but also for lunch the next day. The menu consists of classics like Crab Rangoons, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Wonton Soup, and Crispy Beef, or more creative entrees like Shrimp and Scallop Pineapple Fried Rice, Dragon and Phoenix (Prawns and Chicken), and a Sizzling Asian Surf and Turf. Open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 11:30 a.m. 11 p.m., Saturday from Noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday from Noon to 10 p.m.
