Worcester State students got an official welcome back to an eventful semester from summer! There has already been a two month of classes and midterms have come and gone, but hopefully everyone was not too caught up with schoolwork to enjoy the many events homecoming.

One fun event that homecoming weekend featured was the Pep Rally, hosted by the Dance Club on October 14. The Pep Rally was to initially be held outside Wasylean Hall at 3:00 p.m., but was forced indoors to the halls of the Student Center due to inclement weather. The event started 15 minutes early, and concluded around 3:45 p.m.

A few of the events that were held during the rally were ‘The Wizard of Oz’ themed (get it? Because it’s homecoming week!). Events included a Wizard of Oz trivia, a pie eating contest, three legged race, and an event where three teams of two wrapped one another up in tin foil as fast as they could to make them look like the Tin Man. Before and after each game, the Worcester State Dance Club gave a performance they organized to keep the energy flowing. On top of that, the universities’ mascot, Lancer Man, even made an appearance to show support. Shirts and bracelets, among other things, were given away for free to those who wanted them, and food was free as well.

A minute and a half-length video of the Dance Team doing one of their performances can be found on their official Facebook page.
